Water & De-Hydration

The heat is kicking off with the beginning of summer. So do not forget to drink water often to avoid getting dehydrated.

Mild dehydration may have adverse effects on your body and your mood. Symptoms include headaches, dry mouth, thirst, constipation, dark-coloured urine, tiredness, among others.

Be careful, thirst MAY NOT be a good indicator of dehydration. You may already be dehydrated
before you get thirsty. Your body might also send shutterstock_108215600you mixed messages: you will think you are hungry when you actually only need to have some fluids.

So the best way to know if you’re dehydrated is to look at your urine. Not very glamorous, I know, but works just right! If your urine is yellowish to dark drown then you are dehydrated. When well-hydrated, your urine will be clear.

Water remains the best fluid at all times, so do yourself a favour and drink up!
